1. Who we are
This Cookie Policy is issued by Electric Flock Ltd (Company Number 16375990), 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, United Kingdom WC1N 3AX, trading as PappAI. Contact: privacy@pappai.it.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as localStorage (browser storage) for certain functional purposes. This policy covers all such technologies collectively.
Our use of cookies is governed by the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), the UK GDPR, and — for users in the European Union — the EU ePrivacy Directive and EU GDPR.
3. Cookies and storage we use
By default, PappAI uses only strictly necessary and functional technologies. Analytics and marketing cookies are activated solely upon your explicit consent via the banner; in the absence of consent, no analytical or advertising cookie and no tracking script is set.
| Name / Key | Type | Purpose | Duration | Consent required? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| firebase:authUser:* | IndexedDB / localStorage | Stores your authentication session so you remain logged in. Set by Firebase Authentication (Google LLC). | Session / persistent until sign-out | No — strictly necessary |
| pappai-lang | localStorage | Stores your chosen interface language so the platform displays in your preferred language on return visits. | Persistent (until cleared) | No — strictly necessary for the language-switching feature you have requested |
| _ga, _ga_*, _clck, _clsk | Third-party cookies | Statistical analysis of site usage (Google Analytics 4 — Google LLC; Microsoft Clarity — Microsoft Corporation). Activated only upon consent. | Up to 24 months (GA4); session / 1 year (Clarity) | Yes — Analytics category |
| Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok pixels | Third-party cookies | Measurement and personalisation of advertising campaigns, where active. Activated only upon consent. | Varies by provider (typically up to 13 months) | Yes — Marketing category |
4. Strictly necessary technologies
Under PECR Regulation 6(4) and the equivalent ePrivacy provisions, consent is not required for storage technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. Both items listed above fall into this category:
- The authentication token is necessary to maintain your logged-in session — without it, you would be signed out on every page load.
- The language preference key stores a setting you actively choose; it does not track behaviour.
In addition to the strictly necessary technologies above, we use <strong>Google Analytics (GA4)</strong> and <strong>Microsoft Clarity</strong> for usage analytics. These tools are loaded only after you have explicitly given consent via the cookie consent banner. If you decline analytics, no analytical cookies or tracking scripts are activated.
5. Third-party technologies
Firebase Authentication is provided by Google LLC. Google may process data in accordance with its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We have entered into a Data Processing Agreement with Google covering this processing.
Depending on the categories you consent to, we load: for <strong>Analytics</strong>, Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation); for <strong>Marketing</strong>, where advertising campaigns are active, the Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn and TikTok pixels. These services may set their own cookies and collect usage data (pages visited, interaction patterns) and process it in accordance with their respective policies. None of these is activated in the absence of your consent, which you can change or withdraw at any time.
6. How to manage or delete stored data
A cookie consent banner is shown on your first visit to the site. You can review or change your analytics preference at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings. You can also remove individual stored items at any time:
- Clearing localStorage and IndexedDB: use your browser's developer tools or privacy settings (typically under "Clear browsing data" → "Cookies and site data").
- <strong>Language preference:</strong> you can change your language within the PappAI interface at any time; this updates the stored value.
- <strong>Authentication session:</strong> signing out of PappAI clears the Firebase session token.
Clearing these items will sign you out and reset your language preference. It will not affect any personal data held on our servers.
7. Changes to this policy
If we introduce new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we will update this policy and, where required by law, obtain your consent. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent update.
